Career Development Practitioner
/Position Title: Career Development Practitioner
Department: Employment Services
The Employment Services department is seeking a dynamic and motivated Career Development Practitioner to join their team. The Employment Services Career Development Practitioner will provide professional and confidential employment counselling services to a variety of clients as well as facilitating employment skills workshops. The role of the Career Development Practitioner will contribute to the positive employment outcomes of the clients they serve. This position will operate under the direction and supervision of the Ma:yt Manager.
Qualifications and Requirements
Successful completion of a Grade 12 or GED certificate with minimum of 1 to 3 years of work experience
Career Development Practitioner Certification is considered an asset.
Willing to attend skills training and professional development related to the role of a Career Development Practitioner
Ability to work respectfully with a variety of clients including those who may experience barriers.
Strong computer literacy skills including, but not limited to: MS Word, MS Office, MS Excel as well as databases.
Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
Excellent communication skills and willingness to work individually and as part of a team.
Ability to maintain healthy and respectful relationships with other staff members, community members and clients.
Must possess high level of interpersonal and communications skills to manage sensitive and confidential situations.
Effective time management skills.
Strong work ethic and integrity.
Must possess a high level of interpersonal and communications skills to manage sensitive and confidential situations.
Knowledge of Sts’ailes cultural protocols and traditions would be an asset.
Initiative-taking, resourceful, and punctual.
Wage Range: Based on the Sts’ailes Salary Grid
Type of Position: Full-time –This position is subject to a 3-month probationary period and performance evaluation.
