Public Works is a vital function in a community. It affects almost all other critical governance functions, such as health and safety, economic development, environmental protection, resource management and land use planning. The operation of an effective and consistently reliable public works system is essential to community well being.
The department oversees the Asset Management of all our Community Infrastructure (drinking water, sewer, and roads) as well as Electrical, Buildings & Facilities, Fleet & Equipment (transportation), Sanitation, Fire Dept. and waste management operations including weekly residential garbage and recycling roadside collection, large item pickup, and illegal dumping cleanup.
